reported in the 1000 block of Jasmine Avenue. It was reported at 2:13 p.m.
• Drug activity was reported in the area of Tulare and J streets at 2:22 p.m. A Hispanic male with a shaved head and wearing a black jacket was believed to be selling drugs in the area.
• A vehicle collision was reported in area of El Monte Way and Alta Avenue at 6:02 p.m. Three vehicles were reportedly involved in the accident.
• Vandalism was reported in the 500 block of West Bloomingdale Avenue at 9:33 p.m. Three to four juveniles reportedly threw eggs at a residence there.
• Trespassers were reported in the area of Milsap Avenue and Magnolia Way at 9:47 p.m. Trespassers were believed to be inside a vacant residence on the corner of the intersection.
Sunday, February 17
• A non-injury traffic collision was reported in the 1700 block of East El Monte Way at 1:03 a.m. Two vehicles were reportedly involved in the accident.
• A theft report was made in the 400 block of South L Street at 8:07 a.m.
• Flooding was reported in the area of East El Monte Way and Lincoln Avenue at 11:34 a.m.
• A noise complaint for loud music was reported in the 1100 block of Daisy Court at 12:46 p.m.
• A fire was reported in the 500 block of East Davis Drive at 3:43 p.m. Smoke was reportedly coming out from a gas stove.
• A theft report was made in the 1000 block of Rosemary Avenue at 3:54 p.m The theft reportedly happened at an apartment community center.
• A reckless driver was reported in the area of Avenue 416 and Road 40 at 3:09 p.m. The vehicle was reportedly all over the road.
Stanley L. Galaviz
Stanley L. Galaviz, a resident of Dinuba, died February 12, 2019. He was 74.
He was an auto body repairman.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, February 22 at 11 a.m. at Smith Mountain Cemetery.
Surviving family members include three sons, two daughters, 15 grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren.
Dopkins Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
Juan Salazar Martinez
Juan Salazar Martinez, a resident of Cutler, died February 11, 2019. She was 87.
He was a field laborer.
Services were held on Tuesday, February 19.
Dopkins Funeral Chapel handled the arrangements.
Jose na Ortega
Josefina Ortega, a resident of Reedley, died February 12, 2019. She was 82.
She was a fruit packer.
Burial service will be held on Thursday, February 21 at 10 a.m. at the Old St. Anthony Church in Reedley.
Surviving family members include a son, three daughters, eight grandchildren and eight
great grandchildren.

Juan Ramirez
Juan Ramirez, a resident of Dinuba, died February 15, 2019. He was 59.
He was a construction worker.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 21 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. Rosary will be at 3 p.m. at the church. Funeral mass will be held Friday, February 22 at 1 p.m. at the church.
Surviving family members include his spouse, three sons, a daughter, his parents, two sisters, and nine grandchildren.

Lula Mae Vogt
Lula Mae Vogt, a resident of Dinuba, died February 16, 2019. She was 94.
She was a retired fruit packer.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, February 21 at 1 p.m. at Smith Mountain Cemetery.
Surviving family include three sons, two daughters, two brothers, two sisters 16 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

Bert Boyd
July 13, 1951 - February 12, 2019
Bert Boyd, age 67, of Dinuba stepped into heaven on February 12, 2019, a er a long  ght against pancreatic cancer. Bert was born in Philadelphia, PA, July 13, 1951, to Bert, Sr. and Nell Boyd. Being a Navy family, the Boyd family traveled around the Untied States until they settled in Bert and Nell’s home state of Illinois. Bert was active in Boy Scouts and he enjoyed a childhood full of cousins, camping and  shing. He and his older sister o en caused a lot of mischief together and had a great a ection for each other. At the age of 16, Bert’s mom decided it was time he went to work. She came home and announced she had gotten him a job as a bag boy at the local Piggly Wiggly. He was soon promoted to head of the produce department.  is was the beginning of a lifelong career in the produce business. Bert went on to attend and graduated from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
Bert found himself working in the produce industry which led him to California. As a produce buyer, he met the love of his life, Nancy Vines, and he married her and became father to her two children, Byron and Sarah, in 1986.  eir son, Anthony, and daughter, Audrey, joined the family later.
Eventually, Bert and his family settled in Visalia for many years where they surrendered their hearts to Jesus and became active in the Visalia United Methodist Church. It was there
that Bert and Nancy were called into ministry.  ey made their home in Dinuba, CA, and became the senior pastors of Grace of God of Dinuba. Bert also continued his career in produce as a part of the Marketing team for Jakov P. Dulcich and Sons out of Delano, CA.
Bert is preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Nell Boyd, and his sister, Sally Cotton. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his children, Byron Rush and his wife, Trish, Sarah Van Der- myden and her husband, Kevin, Anthony Boyd and his wife, Sasha, Audrey Menard, and seven grandchildren, Patrick, Reilley, Justin, Grace, Isabelle, Boyd and Tessa. He also leaves behind many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Terry Simmons
March 14, 1954 - February 12, 2019
Terry Simmons, 64, of Dinuba, CA went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 12, 2019 a er a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Terry met his wife,  elma, in the bowling alley, and they married in 1996. Terry was also a beloved father
to his children: Frank and Erika Carrillo, Terry (Jay) and Cindy Simmons, Juan and Lena Paredes, Ryan and Terri Nicolau, Mike Garcia & Bill Chase, James and Kristi Garcia, and Jon-Eric
Garcia & Matt Carter. He was a very proud grandpa to 15 grandkids and three great-grandsons. He also leaves behind many extended family and friends.
Born March 14, 1954 in Lenpanto, Arkansas, Terry was the  rst of six children born to Douglas and Charlotte Simmons. Terry is survived by his brothers Chris, Ken, and Mike Sim- mons, as well as his sister, Annette O’Bryan. He was preceded in death by his father Douglas, brother Rick and his daughter Lillian.
Terry was a successful business owner and leader in his community. He opened Terry’s Flooring Service in 1980 and faithfully served families and businesses throughout the valley for over 38 years.
Active in his church, Terry served as a deacon for many
years at Evangel Bible Church. He and his wife spent countless hours dedicating their time and energy to serving the church and community. Terry loved driving the train at their church’s annual Harvest Festival, leading the men’s prayer group, and working in the food booth at Raisin Day. He loved the Lord and we rejoice knowing that he is  nally home.
In his free time, Terry loved to go  shing with his kids and grandkids. An avid bowler, he would rent out the bowling alley every  anksgiving to enjoy time with family and friends.
Funeral services were held February 19 at Evangel Bible Church in Dinuba and he was buried at Smith Mountain.

Arthur Leyendekker, Jr., 61 of Sunnyside, WA tragically passed away Dec. 11, 2018.
Born in Escondido, CA, 1957 and at a young age labored alongside his 10 siblings on father’s Arthur Leyendekker 15 dairies in CA, Netherlands and in Yakima Valley, Sunnyside, WA. He remembers the teachers at Dinuba Windsor and Grandview schools and the kind Mennonite neighbors: Ernest Gunther, Warkentins, C. Vanderstelt and the staff at Dinuba Grandview School who provided family support. The dairy industry work 24/7 took a toll on his life and he became disabled. He is survived by his mother Helen and 10 siblings; Gerben, Jenny, Ina, Wilma, Charles, Sidney, Helen, Richard, Frank and Andrew. He lived each day with appreciation of life’s blessings and reached out to family and friends. Through SIGHT LIFE, recipients of his corneas regained their sight and independence. His mother and family extend appreciation of your kind support.
Memorials if desired, be given to Hartland Camp/Ernest Gunther Cabin Fund, Sunnyside Christian School and Dinuba Menonnite Bretheran Church or animal humane shelter.
Keith P. “Pete” Cottingham
June 1, 1930 - February 8, 2019
Keith P. “Pete” Cottingham, was born on June 1, 1930, in Orosi, CA, and died on Febru- ary 8, 2019, in Visalia, CA,
at the age of 88. Formerly of Orosi for many years, Pete and his wife, Gladys, have lived
in Visalia under the loving care of their nephew, Richard Combs, for the past 10 years. Pete served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean con ict and was very proud of his
service. He managed Orosi Furniture & Hardware for 25 years while farming at the same time. Upon retiring, he put full time e ort into his vineyards. He also served on various committees, was a member of the Raisin Board and was well known in the farming community. Pete was also a part of the Men’s Morning Co ee at Orosi McDonalds and the Orosi Donut Shop -- men do gossip.
Pete is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gladys M. (Peloyan) Cottingham, his sister, Marilyn Day, of Grover Beach, CA, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on  ursday, Feb 21, 2019, from 1:00 to 8:00 PM at Dopkins Funeral Chapel.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, February22, at Dopkins Funeral Chapel followed by interment at Visa- lia Cemetery.

The Dinuba Sentinel was established on Feb. 11, 1909, then succeeding the Orosi Offer which was established on April 21, 1902, and on Jan. 15, 1917, the Dinuba Advocate. The Kingsburg Sentinel, which was established on Feb. 20, 1947, consolidated with the Dinuba Sentinel on Aug. 28, 1951. • A commercial burglary was reported in the 100 block of East Tulare Street at 7:32 a.m. The back door to a business there was missing the door knob.
• Vandalsim was reported in the 200 block of North L Street at 10:19 a.m. An unknown subject threw a rock through a window.
• Trespassing was reported in the 1000 block of West Franklin Way at 3:38 p.m. A male and two females were inside a vacant building there.
• Suspicious subjects were reported at Roosevelt Park at 4:24 p.m. Two subjects there were believed to be involved in a stabbing.
• A noise complaint for loud music was reported in the 1600 block of North Crawford Avenue at 10:20 p.m.
Tuesday, February 12
• A theft report was made in the 700 block of West El Monte Way at 4:40 p.m. Five juvenile suspects were reportedly detained by loss prevention.
• Subjects were reportedly going through the trash dumpsters in the alley way in the 100 block of Soputh M Street at 7:05 p.m.
• A dog knocked over a fence and attacked a neighbor's dog in the 500 block of South Crawford Avenue. It was reported at 9:16 p.m.
Wednesday, February 13
• A residential burglary was reported in the 200 block of North Villa Avenue at 7:40 a.m.
• Domestic violence was reported in the 700 block of West El Monte Way at 10:33 a.m.
• A suspicious subject was reported in the 200 block of Lindara Avenue at 5:56 p.m. A male juvenile tried entering a residence.
• A reckless driver was reported in the area of Viscaya and Saginaw Way at 7:12 p.m. Vehicles were doing donuts in the area.
• A non-injury traffic collision was reported near the intersection of Eaton Avenue and East El Monte Way at 9:41 p.m. The accident involved a Nissan Titan and a white vehicle.

• Vandalism was reported in the 300 block of South M Street at 9:30 a.m.
• A suspicious subject was reported in the 100 block of Hayes Avenue at 1:17 p.m. A subject was reportedly yelling and going through trash cans in the area.
• A pizza delivery driver was reportedly robbed in the 1100 block of Holden Way. It was reported at 8:23 p.m.
• Vandalism was reported in the 200 block of East Fresno Street at 8:44 p.m. Subjects reportedly threw eggs at a resident's vehicle in the area.
Friday, February 15
• An injury traffic collision was reported on Crawford Avenue, south of Dinuba, at 2:43 p.m. The accident reportedly involved a single vehicle, a black truck, that rolled over into a ditch.
• Vandalism was reported in the 300 block of North Eaton Avenue at 3:14 p.m. A heating and AC unit was graffitied.
• A trespasser was reported in the 600 block of Harvard Avenue at 6:07 p.m. A subject was believed to be inside a vacant residence in the area.
• A hit-and-run was reported in the 500 block of West El Monte Way at 9:52 p.m. A Nissan Altima reportedly hit a car in the area and fled the scene.
Saturday, February 16
• Domestic violence was reported in the 1000 block of Rosemary Avenue at 12:54 a.m.
• A residential burglary was reported in the 1600 block of Odessa Avenue at 3:50 a.m. A subject reportedly broke in and was believed to still be in the garage.
• Two male subjects were reportedly smoking marijuana on the benches at Delgado Park. It was reported at 11:27 a.m.
