Chukchansi Getaway
Join our next trip to the Chukchansi casino on Friday, Aug. 24.
The cost is $17, which includes $10 free play and $5 lunch buffet with photo ID. To sign up, come to the Phil Hudson Senior Room at the Reedley Senior Center on weekdays, 9 a.m. to noon. You'll also have to sign a waiver form. The center is at 100 N. East Ave.
Early registration for Reedley seniors is now open. Open enrollment starts July 30.
Payment accepted through check or money or- der made to the City of Reed- ley. The trip is sponsored by the Reedley Community Ser- vices Department.

“I am a teacher at heart,” Henderson said. “I love edu- cating children about life and how things work behind the scenes. I love seeing the excitement in their faces as they react to what I teach and show them.”
Henderson talked to the children about honey “made from local bees,” how choco- late comes from cocoa beans, and the difference between milk and dark chocolate.
Kids Corner teachers Candy Goats and Michelle Bonderant walked the group of 20 children in grades 1-5 to downtown Reedley. Goats said the field trip was an effort to teach them about Reedley businesses and his- tory.
The field trip was sched- uled during “Disney week” at Kids Corner. Goats was dressed as Mary Poppins, wearing all black and car- rying an umbrella. The day prior, children wore their Mickey Mouse ears.

A group of 20 children from Kids Corner Daycare at Chapter One School recently took a tour of Sweet Destination in downtown Reedley where they learned about what it takes to run a candy businesses.
