Jackson followed the trail of paper. It was leading to their old school. As he ran to the school fence, he heard a second scream and called out:
‘Paris! Is that you? Where are you?’
‘We’re in here,’ a voice sobbed. Jackson charged through the school gate and gasped when he saw the school. The front of the building had sunk into the ground and a section of roof dangled precariously over a window.
‘Jackson! We’re in our classroom!’ Paris yelled. ‘Matty is trapped and I can’t pull him out. Come round to the back – it’s the only way in.’
