again the container was lifted and put down. Then one side of the container was removed and they were free to walk in a different orchard. Five of the chickens quickly found cool water in a shallow bowl. Adeline collapsed on the grass with her wings wide open and gained Mrs Weston’s immediate attention.
‘Oh dear! I think I’ve bought a sickly one. You can go back to the market,’ she said as she bent over to pick the bird up. Adeline sprang to life and trotted off for a drink leaving Mrs Weston puzzled and smiling. ‘Right ladies. You have all this space to yourselves and I’m sure you will like living here.’
