Charlie Rabbit was concerned about his friend, Sam and the temporary closure of the Hog Bakery. He decided to hitch a ride on the back of Willow Heron and visit Saskia Duck and her family and talk to them about the situation, as well as calling in and having a chat with Dolly Partridge. The heron owned a small transport business with his new friend, Serenity, and carried animals around the district.
‘Good morning, Willow. How are you?’ asked Charlie as he lifted a harness from the heron’s shoulder.
‘Not too bad, Charlie. We are busy today. It seems that every animal in Barns Wood wants to go somewhere. Do you have any idea what time you’ll be coming back?’
‘Early afternoon, Willow, if you can manage it. Otherwise, I’ll walk,’ replied Charlie.
