Charlie couldn’t wait to see Sadie and tell her about the ducks. When he left, she dashed to the duck house with a basket of crockery and utensils. When she’d arranged them, she came out and shut the door, and noticed that the chickens were missing from the pen. She turned to see five of them roaming across the lawn.
‘I wonder where the other one is?’ she thought, and looked around the garden. She noticed another smaller pen had been erected closer to the house, so she sneaked along the garden and hid in a clump of flowers. The missing bird was lying on the floor inside.
