Matty kept his eyes on his cards and casually said: ‘They have taken the afternoon off and gone to see Annie Weasel. They’ll be back soon.’
‘You look well. Have you walked with your crutches?’ asked the rabbit, looking at the two sticks leaning against the wall.
‘We have made an agreement,’ winked Badger. ‘If he wins the next game he has to use them all day long.’
‘Good luck, Matty,’ smiled Charlie. ‘I’m off to see Yappy Pigeon. Catch you later.’
