be involved on the team helping put that on. I was a mark layer during Cowes Week for the first time in 2019 which was also a great experience. Having said that, a sunny Thursday evening in Southampton Water is an excellent way to destress from work!
Why should Club members get involved with the RMT? It is a really easy way to get on the water, especially if you are not
a boat owner, like myself. You get to meet new people and learn new things and may get the chance to be involved with some of the biggest racing events in the Solent. You might be happy hoisting flags on Thursday
evening, or you might want to get more heavily involved at regional level. The RMT welcomes all skill and ambition levels. If you have a RYA Powerboat Level 2 and want to put the qualification to use and hone those boat handling skills, you might get the opportunity to become one of our mark layers.
Why don’t you make 2021 the year you join
the RMT and join us on the water? If you
are interested in getting involved, please contact Sailing Secretary Lisa Topley: sailing@rsyc.org.uk or 023 8022 3552
