Thank You...
... to everyone who took part in the survey that featured in Allotment and Leisure Gardener issue 2 2017.
The response was fantastic and we really appreciate the time that people took lling it in; your opinion really does count as we look to the future of your magazine.
We were surprised to nd from the survey that over half of those who responded do not have adequate toilet facilities on their allotment sites. In this edition we have included a section called ‘New Year New Loo’, which includes some information about toilet types, planning permission, and funding for readers who are interested in including or upgrading toilet facilities in the future.
And it’s great to hear that recycling is very important to two in three of respondees, with gardeners harvesting rainwater, composting their green waste, and using recycled materials on their plots.
We also learned that people are interested in beekeeping and keeping hens. Is this an allotment project that you are planning to undertake this year?
Here are a few of the results that we think you might nd of particular interest:
50%
of respondents use their allotment as a way to contemplate nature
