Malvern Autumn Flower Show
The show at Malvern seems to come around quickly. We nd this show easy to set up as we just put the vegetables, fruit and owers we have grown, out on plates and in vases.
We used the same covers for the tables as last year; maroon with a yellow overlay (quite bright). With the yellow and orange colour of the squashes, we thought it looked very good.
We had chosen to be judged by the Malvern Show judges, but about midday the steward advised that we should go for the RHS judges, and to get the stand ready for 2pm. Phew - we just made it! We waited until 4pm; nobody came, so we went home wondering if we had done enough. As always with the show we were up at 5am and keen to get back to see how we had done: maybe a bronze? No - a silver, and we could not believe it!
We were very happy, and the compliments we received all weekend made it worthwhile.
Just a big thank you to all our helpers: Liz Bunting, Karen and Liz from the Head Of ce, Dennis, Sylvia, Chas, Rob, Val, Meryl, Libby and Alan, who all helped with the stand for the weekend. We had lots of enquiries, 4 new members and our usual banter with the GFGS Fuchsia Friends. All in all, a very happy weekend.
Thank you all for coming to see us. We hope to see you at the spring show in May 2018.
