Giant Pumpkin Competitions
Beaumaris RNLI once again bene tted from the success of local green- ngered allotment holders and their magni cent giant pumpkins.
Thanks to the generosity of The Bulkeley Hotel, The Bull Hotel, and Red Boat, who hosted the competitions, visitors were able to guess the weights of three of the heaviest pumpkins grown this year. Dafydd Rowlands of Joan Hopkin Estate Agents sponsored the award for Heaviest Pumpkin at the recent BAAFTAs (Beaumaris Annual Awards for the Allotments).

154lbs, and was on display at the Bulkeley. The next largest, weighing in at 141.9lbs, was grown by Stroma Pallett, owner of the popular local Castle Gardens Nursery and was on display at The Bull Hotel. Stroma’s second biggest pumpkin was on display at Red Boat, weighing in at 73.7lbs.
In total £225 was raised for Beaumaris RNLI, and the cheque was recently handed over to members of the crew to help them continue their vital work.

Volunteers Needed!
The Wales region is looking for volunteers from the region
to help the Regional Representative to represent the NAS on behalf of allotment holders, local authorities and member associations.
We are in particular need of a secretary, but whatever your skills – from site development to social media and fundraising – please come along and share your skills and experience with other like-
minded people.
