One of the largest and most memorable parades ever organised by Devon ACF took place in Exeter in July last year. This was the occasion of the presentation of new Banners. Over 400 cadets, their officers and instructors marched through the City
of Exeter, headed by the Corps of Drums, to the Cathedral Green where they formed up, marched off the old Banner and the Lord Lieutenant, Sir Eric Dancer KCVO CBE
JP, presented the new Banners. Following the march-off a Service of Dedication conducted by the County Padre, Major
The Rev Alan Glover, was held in the Cathedral. The four Companies on parade were inspected by the Lord Lieutenant, the Honorary Colonel Brigadier Simon Young CBE, The Lord Mayor of Exeter and the High Sherriff of Devon Mr John Lee OBE. The whole occasion seemed to have a big impact on the watching public and also the VIPs from all the major towns in Devon who expressed their appreciation and admiration for the qualities shown by the cadets on parade.
