forgetting of course the drill competition. We then said goodbye to our RAF (Cadet Expansion Project) CCF unit from Magnus Academy in Newark who we have been training and developing over the last two years, they are now a CCF unit in their own right parading 30 + cadets......Per Adua ad Astra.
CADSAM competition arrived very quickly, under SSgt (In- structor) Pulfrey’s teaching and training the Contingent came 3rd in the section attack part, and 6th overall, a good result for a young team. Flying and gliding continued well for our CCF RAF Section, resulting in lots of aviation wings.
Bienneial Inspection was carried out by Maj Hood from The Royal Lancers assisted by Lt Free, resulting in an ‘Excellent’ grade. The CCF Cadets also met and were photographed with Si-

mon Weston CBE after an excellent motivational presentation at St Wulphram’s Church, Grantham organised by U3A. The RAF CCF Section recently took part in the Easter Region RAF CCF competition for all CCF Schools who have an RAF Section at the Shuttleworth Collection HQ. We won the competition and are now the Eastern Area Team selected for the National Competi- tion in 2020.
I wish to thank all the CCF contingent officers, SSI and adults who deliver such a wonderful CCF experience for our cadets here at Grantham King’s School. The Queens New Year 2020 Honours list awarded a British Empire Medal to the Contin- gent Commander Lt Col Ray Ogg for his service to the CCF and DWP.
