Stylish village salon
Chloe Cooper took over Hair @ Number One in February this year, after working at the salon for the last 10 years. Chloe worked her way up from being an apprentice to running the salon and here she tells us more about the job she loves...
Favourite thing about your salon? My favourite thing about the salon is that we are like one big family. Our salon is a fun and friendly environment where anyone is welcome. We pride ourselves on the fact we offer hairdressing services to men, women and children.
What is the best thing about your job? The best thing about my job is meeting so many amazing people from so many different walks of life and also being able to make people feel good when they leave, no matter how they felt when they arrived.
You have £10 to give to charity, who do you choose? It would definitely be a cancer charity. Effecting so many of our lives daily, it’s one that I think we can never support enough. We try to do a couple of charity fundraisers in the salon through the year, always supporting McMillan and various others.
What are the best styles for older ladies? The most popular styles at the moment are definitely lived-in blondes and short sharp bobs which fit in great with some of our older clients. As we get older our hair looses its strength and natural volume, so a low maintenance layered bob is just the most perfect style to keep you looking young and fresh.
Most challenging moment? It has got to be February of this year – the same week I took over the salon, I lost my dad to cancer that
