7TH PARACHUTE REGIMENT ROYAL HORSE ARTILLERY
Aperiod of absolute dominance from a Regiment that has seen it all this year. 7 Para RHA continue to create opportunities and have been hugely successful in doing so. The unit has been busy as usual on Short-Term Training Teams (STTTs) building relations with Jordanian QRFs, Ex CYPHER STRIKE (Regt Ex) / SWIFT RESPONSE supporting 2 Para, lead for the 42 Gun Royal Salute in Castle Park for the Platinum Jubilee, Ex SPHNX STRIKE and multiple Pre Para led courses in preparation for All Arms Pre- Parachute Selection (AAPPS). A calendar full of soldiering exploits and still time for massive achievements within the sporting and AT space.
Between April 2022 and March 2023 the Regiment saw the delivery of several in-house competitions. 61st Regimental Birthday, BAWF and AT in the Austrian Alps led by the 7 Para RHA REME workshop. Alongside this, in August the Regimental Cricket team played Amsterdam, 18 unit cyclists visited Belgium on Ex FLANDERS GARDEN and The Black Swans took gold in the Armed Forces Parachute Championships in July. These events united the Batteries further to deploy on a hectic period.
Sport, specifically endurance has always been a key element of 7 Para RHA and its fundamental output. This period has been no exception seeing the Cross Country team taking gold at the RA Inter Unit Championships in February, senior winners at the Army Championships in January and senior male runners up in the Army Inter Unit Relays. A fantastic few months gave the Regiment momentum to carry on and support many sporting events, including a very successful football season. 7 Para RHA had a hard fought semi final in the RA Cup in May, going to penalties. This then saw into a winning final in June against 3 RHA. A squad built to potentially aid the Army Team in the very near future.
