COMMANDING’S
INSPECTION FOR
ASKERN SQUADRON
Wing Commander Katherine Barton recently made her first official visit to a Squadron since assuming command.
The visit to 1384 (Askern) Squadron allowed the cadets to meet Wing Commander Barton and gave them the opportunity to talk about their experiences and aspirations within the organisation. She also had the opportunity to speak with the staff members who support the cadets and the Squadron.
She then inspected a formal parade of the Squadron. A highlight of the visit was the presentation of awards, certificates and promotions to the cadets of the unit by the Wing Commander. This included various classification certificates and new recruits passing out of first class.
Wing Commander Barton said, “I am incredibly proud to have made my
first Squadron to 1384 (Askern) Squadron. The cadets presented themselves impeccably, their enthusiasm was infectious, and the dedication of the staff was plain to see. I was particularly impressed with the cadets' commitment and their eagerness to learn. I look forward to visiting further units across the Wing in the future to meet both our cadets and staff.”
