MAYOR’S CADET APPOINTED FOR NORTH
LINCOLNSHIRE
By Civilian Instructor Chris Wood
Sergeant Libby Napier has made history as the first cadet from 2222 (Brigg) Squadron to be appointed as the Mayor’s Cadet. This prestigious role, a significant milestone for both Libby and her squadron, recognizes her leadership, commitment, and dedication to the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.
As the Mayor’s Cadet, Sgt Napier will accompany the Mayor of North Lincolnshire at official civic engagements and represent young people in
the local community. It places her in a role of responsibility, acting as a liaison between the Mayor’s office and the Air Cadets. It is a unique honour that reflects the growing recognition of the contributions of young cadets to civic life.
Sgt Napier’s appointment is a source of great pride for 2222 (Brigg) Squadron and her Officer Commanding, Flight Lieutenant Graham Slater, expressed enthusiasm for the opportunities this position will bring both to Sgt Napier and the squadron as a whole. By becoming the first cadet to take on this role, she sets an inspiring example for
future cadets in Brigg and beyond.
This achievement showcases the importance
of youth involvement in local governance and community service, and Sgt Napier’s new role as Mayor’s Cadet is a testament to her hard work and dedication.
Nijmegen Success for Lawnswood Cadets
Flight Sergeants Lucas Elwell and Fred Kendall embarked on the gruelling international march covering around 95miles (152km) over 4 days and smashed it, earning themselves the royally approved medal Vierdaagskruis.
