VISITS B
COMPANY HQ
On Monday 1st July, Major Ian Main, the new Cadet Executive Officer (CEO) for Yorkshire (N&W) ACF visited B Company HQ as the first step of his tour around the County's Companies.
Major Main came on a fact-finding mission to speak to HQ staff, before proceeding to Strensall Detachment.

SUPPORTS HOSPICE
IN TOUGH MUDDER
Selby Detachment's Cadet LCpl Lucy Storey is not someone who resists a challenge - and this was a big one...
This kind-hearted cadet committed to undertaking the Tough Mudder course on 27th July 2024, in order to raise much-needed funds for Wakefield Hospice, a local registered charity. The Hospice's annual running costs are now approximately £4 million, and it relies on the people of Wakefield to keep it going, so Lucy decided to step up and do her bit.
Her goal was to raise at least £500 for Wakefield Hospice...but she actually managed to raise a whopping £671 instead!
SELBY CADET SUPPORTS SSAFA
A busy day for another Selby cadet!
While many young people were out and about, making the most of the first week of the school summer holiday, Selby Detachment's
Cadet Harry Meleady-Green was volunteering for SSAFA at York Racecourse.
SSAFA (the Soldiers', Sailors' &
Airmen's Families Association) relies
on volunteers to help raise funds, and
Harry was more than happy to join his
father in the fundraising effort in York, on 27th July 2024.
Together, the team raised a wonderful £1270 for this deserving military charity!
Selby Detachment Commander, AUO Gary White is justifiably proud of both Cadet LCpl Storey and Cadet Meleady-Green, saying how well they represented the detachment and B Company.
Welcome to
B Company,
CSM Garside!
On 1st August 2024, Yorkshire Day, it was the first day in the job for B Company's new CSM, SMI Neil Garside!
CSM Garside transferred to B Company after serving as Detachment Commander of Bingley Detachment in D Company. He was keen to join B Company after getting to know everyone at a series of
B Coy training weekends, so he was delighted when his application to be the new CSM was accepted.
He is a former member of the Regular Army, (serving with the Royal Signals) and enjoys all aspects of the Army Cadet curriculum, with a particular fondness for SAA and Fieldcraft.
