     SAINT GEORGE’S DAY PARADE
By Flight Lieutenant Kellyann Martin
It was an excellent turnout by the local air cadets at the St George’s Day parade in Morley, Leeds in April. Attended
by 2490 (Spen Valley), 96 (Dewsbury), 168 (City of Leeds) and 208 (North Leeds) Squadrons, the cadets put on an impressive show as they marched past the Mayor of Morley, led by Flight Lieutenant Kellyann Martin.
The Parade Marshall for the day, directing the cadets, veterans, brownies, guides, scouts and civil war re-enactors was Warrant Officer Kevin Stead, whilst the Master of Ceremonies for the event was Flight Lieutenant Neil Foster.
Morley residents turned out in their thousands to watch the parade, along with local dignitaries, VIPs and MPs. The sun shone down as the parade marched its way up to Morley Rugby Club, where the festivities continued with a gala.
A good day was had on the whole, and the Air Cadet contingent did the Wing proud.
