HUMBERSIDE AND SOUTH YORKSHIRE REMEMBERS
On Sunday 14 November cadets and adult volunteers, their families and members of the public came together to pay their respects on Remembrance Parades throughout the nation, and at locations around the county footprint, members of Humberside and South Yorkshire Army Cadet Force (HSY) were doing the same.
Around HSY parades were a little different to the usual due to Covid-19 and some town and parish councils were not able to hold a service this year.
In Northern Lincolnshire, parades were carried out at central locations for E Company in Scunthorpe and Grimsby, while one detachment in Waltham did parade at their local War Memorial.
Whereas, in Barnsley members of Barnsley, Wombwell and Darfield Detachments of C Company paid their respects at Barnsley Memorial.
In the East Riding of Yorkshire, members of East Hull, Mona House Detachments joined forces to attend the Remembrance Parade in Hedon alongside Band, Withernsea and Hedon Detachments, while Beverley and Driffield Detachments attended Beverley Town’s Parade.
In Sheffield, cadets and volunteers from Greenhill and Manor Top came together in the city centre for the city’s parade, while Birdwell Detachment attended Hoyland Memorial to pay their respects.
Endcliffe Detachment supported the Royal British Legion in Penistone, by not only attending their service, but with also by having Cadets Cameron Schofield and Gil Evans read the Roll of Honour, while Cadet Max Poole escorted the Deputy Lieutenant throughout the parade.
