THE GAZETTE QARANC 31
Duke of Edinburgh, HRH The Prince of Wales and other members of the Royal Family, as well as members of the Government. Once we gave three cheers to Her Majesty the Queen, the Royal Family left, the GSM walked down the centre of the muster and that was our cue to relax; the performances were over.
We were allowed to pick up the poppies from the hall floor as
memories of the occasion and took the opportunity to take photos with Col Karen Irvine CNO(A) and Maj (Retd) Edith Edgar who was the specially invited Association standard bearer.
I cannot explain to you the amount of pride and the mixture of emotions that you feel during occasions like this. If you ever get the chance to take part in this parade, jump at it and shout the loudest to go. It is a long few
days with a lot of waiting around but to represent your Corps and honour those who have fallen in a place like the Royal Albert Hall has to be one of the highest accolades that I think I have experienced in my almost 24 years’ service.
