Field of Remembrance Westminster Abbey
In addition to the unit events I was invited to attend the Field of Remembrance taking place at Westminster Abbey on 9 November to represent the QARANC. I stood at the QAIMNS and QARANC plots. It was a privilege to speak to the serving and retired nurses in attendance, and to learn about their careers.
To see His Royal Highness Prince Harry in attendance and watch his interaction with everyone including children was wonderful. After a poignant service, we visited Westminster
Abbey where I was lucky enough to be allowed upstairs to see the stained glass windows depicting the various nursing badges from all services over the years.
I was honoured to attend this day and witness the beautiful tribute to those who had fallen to provide a better life for all of us that came after them.
