Local hospice feels the joy of spring thanks to Beaumaris Allotments
St David’s Hospice in North Wales has benefitted to the tune of over £300 from the sale of pots of spring bulbs planted up by a Beaumaris allotment holder. Followingthegenerousdonationof some bags of compost from the Co-op in Llanfairpwll and some flower bulbs from B&Q in Bangor, further supplies of compost, flowerpots and bulbs were purchased.Thesewerethenusedto create pots of different combinations
of spring bulbs including miniature daffodils, muscari, tulips, iris, hyacinths, and anemones, which were then sold both in the St David’s Hospice shop in Menai Bridge and also by the plotholder.
St David’s Hospice Shop Manager, Janet Evans said: “we have been delighted
to have been given the pots of spring bulbs to sell in the shop and they have beenreallypopular. Ratherthanbuya bunch of flowers for a friend, these pots will give pleasure for many weeks and bring the joy of spring to us all whilst helping us raise much needed funds forourcharity. Wearereallygrateful
to Beaumaris Allotments for their support.”
