Chairman’s Report – Cllr Karen Draycott
I had thought that my last report in the Jigsaw was
to signal the end of my Mayoral year. Since then the situation has changed. Thrapston Town Council has asked me to continue in the role for a further year. It remains an amazing privilege to serve our Community.
until further notice, social distancing needs to be maintained.
Most of our planned events for 2020 have either been cancelled or postponed, this is being kept under constant review. We are beginning to plan for 2021, for hopefully a very full programme of community events.
Our staff and Councillors are available for advice, guidance and general enquiries. Should
you need to contact Thrapston Town Council please contact: office@ thrapstontowncouncil.gov.
  Many areas of our
society are now slowly
being allowed to engage in
a wider range of activities.
As a Council we are very
keen to support our local
retailers and businesses,
as and when it is safe
to do so. We plan to
advertise their opening
times, please look out for posters and social media messages. The health and safety of all staff and members of the public are paramount. Please remember

Please stay safe and look out for each
other. We are an amazing community family.
By the time this article is published the Town Council office will be well on the way to being ready to open to the public. Changes are being made to make the office a safe place for residents and
staff. As well as the physical changes, spacing of desks and erection of screens, new rules will be in place to comply with government guidelines. Only one member of the public will be allowed into the
office at a time and any residents waiting to come in will need to queue outside observing the 2 metre distance rule. The actual opening date will be on social
media and on our notice boards. Initially the office will be open 9am to
12.30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. As now, residents can phone or email the council at any time. The phone is manned Monday to Friday 9am to 2pm with an answer machine for other times.
Our thanks go to Healthy Pet Supplies for providing the dog poo bags whilst the office has been closed. The bags will
be available from the council office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
