2020 should have seen the Harrogate & District Allotment Federation celebrating our 60th annual allotment show, but sadly the festivities had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. So, it was with great relief and pleasure that, once again, we were able to go ahead on 15th August this year in the beautiful Sun Pavilion in the Valley Gardens, Harrogate.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable Show.
It was fantastic to be able to exhibit our best vegetables, flowers and baking again and, with a few Covid-19 safety measures in place in the Sun Pavilion, the atmosphere was warm and relaxed, and everyone had a great time.

many other vegetable, fruit, flower, and cooking classes all examined by our experienced judges, Joe Lofthouse, Roger Brownbridge, Ann Kent and Janet Morrow.

saw plotholders across the district producing arrangements from the Diamond Jubilee Sweet Peas, Jubilee Tomatoes and Jubilee Boy Dahlias that they had grown during the season. The resulting arrangements were brought together in a display at the Show with garden writer and presenter, Martin Fish, choosing the winner.
The Mayor of Harrogate, Councillor Trevor Chapman opened the Show, and it was great to welcome Phil Gomersall, NAS President, to the event.
Every year, the Federation donates the profits from the Show to a local charity. This year’s chosen charity was Ripon Museums Trust. The surplus produce
