Assessment and have also formed Rehabilitation Platoons in a variety of formats.
In 2017 a successful Brigade Festival of Sport (FOS) was conducted over 3 days in a “SuperStars” format. This was an inclusive event incorporating male, female, Regular and AR participants. During this event all AR personnel completed their BCM and MST as these are often problematic to achieve at the ARCs. Another FofS is planned for 2018 which aims to improve on last year and expand Bde cohesion and sports participation. Bde HQ Staff members have taken part in representative sport up to Combined Services level notably Athletics and Hockey. Programme THOR has been fully implemented across 101 Log Bde and into the HQ PT programme replacing the previous “Run,
SO2 G3 Ops (Res) proudly The author during Week receiving her 300 Club t-shirt 2 – Ex Winter Viper 2018
Tab, Run” routine. The inclusive, progressive nature of the PTP has also seen increased numbers attending the sessions and the FISS2 statistics for BCM, PFA & AFT have improved accordingly. The inclusion of swimming has seen 8 absolute non-swimmers improve to almost the standard required for MST. Ex Winter Viper 18 saw 25 personnel engage in Alpine skiing, some for their first experience on snow, others enhancing previously learnt skills.
In summary, the main threat to continued effective 1* RAPTC support to 101 Log Bde will be the resilience of the current manning model to the potential uplift of Op Broadway. Nevertheless, the improved structure and efficacy of PD within 101 Log Bde over 12 initial months are significant and are testament to the impact the RAPTC can have on an Organisation.
