ANNUAL
CAMP AT RAF
LEEMING
FOR 2460
(PONTEFRACT)
SQUADRON
Seven of our cadets returned from Annual Camp at RAF Leeming after a week experiencing life with the Royal Air Force alongside cadets from all over the Wing and with our very own Wing Commander Brian Daniel as Camp Commandant!
They enjoyed a traditional camp with visits to sections around the station, flying, sport and days at local points of interest such at Yorkshire Air Museum and Adrenaline.
Camps like this are so important for Royal Air Force Air Cadets, as it gives them the opportunity
to challenge themselves, away from home and
in an environment which means their behaviour, personal organisation and teamwork skills have to be exemplary.
It was clear from the cadets’ faces as they got off the coach that they’d had a great time, with friendships forged for a long time to come.
The camp at Leeming was an amazing experience
Our thanks, as always, go to the staff who accompanied and guided them all week, and for our 2460 cadets it was a successful camp with Corporal Joel Hanley being awarded Best NCO and B Flight, which all our cadets were in and led by Cadet Sergeant Kai Ford, collecting best flight!
Sergeant Ford said “the camp at Leeming was an amazing experience, we got to see how life on an RAF station was and visit many parts of the base. We got to go flying, go to a high ropes course and spend time playing sport and working on our uniforms. The best part was challenging ourselves and making new friends though, it is a week I’ll never forget!”
Well done to them all.
