Wayne’s Keep Military Cemetery





Wayne’s Keep Military Cemetery, covering the post-war period almost up to the independence of Cyprus 
in 1960, is named after Mr Richard St. J. O. Wayne. He lived in a 2-storey house on a ridge in the vicinity 

of what is now the cemetery. Wayne worked for the British Colonial Administrative Service in Cyprus 
on two separate occasions. From 1927 to 1947, he was employed as Assistant Secretary in the Chief
