Army Road Cycling Race Teams 2019
The RAPTC were very well represented in the Army Road Cycling Teams for 2019. Everyone added real value throughout the domestic sporting calendar; participating in National and Regional events across the UK. Disappointingly the men’s Inter Services Road Cycling Championships was won by the Royal Navy, but the team are motivated for next season. On a more successful note, the Women’s Inter-Service Team demonstrated their superior physical ability and took the victory securing the podium with 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Army Cycling Road Race Series
The Army Cycling Road Race Series (ACRRS) is the breeding ground for success. Supported by Lt Col (MAA) I Phillips RAPTC and Sgt (SI) M Woodhead RAPTC. The ACRRS is a great success and is growing in both standard and numbers year on year. The league format is set to change slightly for the upcoming year 20/21 from the standard three-tier system; A, B, C league to now include an Inter-Corps race at each event. The A league is for the elite riders and is open to men and women riders who have been accredited and have earned 40 points or more during the ACRRS season. The B league is for men and women riders who have been accredited as capable to be B league riders and have earned 22 points or more. The C league is for male riders only who

have limited racing experience and have not progressed through the Corps coaching accreditation. The newly integrated Inter- Corps races will only allow 6 riders per Corps to enter, in order to minimise the monopoly effect from the bigger Corps/Regiments flooding the field, and to allow equal chance amongst the Corps. The ACRRS is highly competitive in all three leagues and is a great place to test your personal fitness, refine your bike handling skills, meet likeminded people; whilst having some serious fun on a sports afternoon!
