Page 17 - RAPTC Year of 2019
P. 17
Yet another busy year on the TDT PT front, now the main effort of the APTS is dropping away from a DSAT and training development perspective, and GCC PES has been implemented, it is time to get back to our other PT courses and complete some DSAT analysis and work on them. With SCR being introduced across the Army, I am now starting to focus my attention on the ARTAS course to understand its relevance and if there is still a requirement, now that the 2.4km run has been removed and a range of other tests have been introduced. A training needs analysis will be conducted on the ARTAS course
to see if it is still fit for purpose, which is no small task. A visit to an Army recruiting Team scheduled soon will provide us with the correct information for the changes required.
All our resources have recently been mirrored on the AKX to enable Reserves to access them via AKX online on Defence Connect, we are utilising and developing the RAPTC platform on Defence Connect to assist and promote the one Army concept.

Over the past year and aside from training design I have been involved in numerous tasks, including the development of media and content for the Army Peoples
website and helping on the upgrade of the FISS platform which is soon to be released.
I have also been out and about delivering at all the Regional Study Periods (RSPs), which I feel has been a great success. I feel privileged to be in a position where I can help others, make a difference and promote good practice. The trip to the Cyprus RSP was definitely a great way to end the 2019 / 20 rollout of ADT delivery.
The PT Management Tool is now out for use and feedback is welcome, I fully understand the Tool won’t work for everyone however if we work together, we can produce a system that
gives us the support and outcome we desire to have a common APTS delivery approach. Over the last few months the Tool has been designed to aid and assist with the PDA process and if used to its full capacity, will make all our lives easier. Currently I’m heavily involved with the manipulation and analysis of the Project 5 Survey data, which is time consuming but interesting work. In the near future I will start work to support the scoping and development work for a Lone Soldier PT App and also an online PTI logbook, to support the Army’s assurance process.
On the sporting front I have participated in several South Orienteering events, represented Regional Command at Cross Country, a last-minute entry in the 400m for the Corps Athletics team and more recently have joined the Corps Rugby team, playing against the AGC where I received my Apostle Number #55.
