The Sapper Games 2019 (SG19) were hosted by 42 Engr Regt (Geo) at RAF Wyton over the period 10-12 Jun 19, on behalf of RHQ RE and HQ 8 Engineer
Brigade. The aim of the Sapper Games
is to draw together Royal Engineers units, both Regular and Reserve in a sporting competition. It provides a relaxed but competitive sporting event for units and individuals to compete for trophies whilst promoting ‘esprit de corps’. The overall winners for 2019 were 42 Engr Regt (Geo) which is the first time they have won the games.
2 OCT 19 saw the inaugural UK Midlands British Army Warrior Fitness (BAWF) Battle-Buddies hosted at RAF Wyton. Teams from across the UK regions came together to throwdown and saw ATC (P) captained by Sgt (SI) Gilmore RAPTC victorious for the males and 1 MWD championing the female category.
CO’s Christmas PT rolled around too quickly for this RAPTCI’s liking. We endeavoured to put something on

which the Regiment hadn’t seen before with the aim of it being fun but also challenging however, fancy dress was the dress code
once again.
With all the sport and fitness events which featured in 2019, it only seemed fitting that 2020 started with a Station Health and Well-being day. The day saw an array of stands which covered the four themes of health with Sports Officers taking advantage of day to promote their retrospective sports and clubs.
With it being a new year and many setting resolutions for a healthier “new me” many signed up for taster fitness classes also.
In summary, the last 12 months at 42 have been challenging, fun and rewarding. I look forward to what the future will bring.
