  FROM BLUE LINE TO FRONT LINE
It was labelled the ‘year of change’ by the Commanding Officer in February 2019. And so it proved to be for 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards; a year in which they transitioned from
supporting the Household Division commitment on Public Duties to preparing for their first Battlegroup Overseas Training Exercise in 15 years. EX ASKARI STORM in September 2019 was identified as everyone’s Main Effort.

A clear and precise build up programme was designed and implemented with Physical Development, Sport and AT all firmly embedded. This ensured that my final year as part of the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards was as varied as the 2 previous.
