International Students’ London Visit
ON 10TH JULY A group of twenty students visited London for a
spot of sight-seeing. The visit began with a walking tour through the heart of the capital, and discussions around a number of monuments close to MOD Main Building. After lunch in Villiers Street the group moved on through Whitehall to watch the changing
of the guard, before proceeding past Downing Street and some noisy Molowelan protestors into St James’s Park.
The group then walked up the Mall toward Buckingham Palace, and sighted some unexpected fauna
in Green Park in the shape of an elephant herd, which are generally not to be found in central London. Recovering, Wg Cdr Sas Duffin led a tour of the Royal Air Force Club in Piccadilly before a return home via Parliament Square to the River Thames.
Due to the impact of COVID on
the rest of the international student programme, this was a great way to sample a little British culture and history, and to build some more memories amongst friends.
