 CHRISTMAS PAST
Christmas had officially arrived in Thrapston and the community came together to enjoy the Christmas Festival along the High Street, featuring live music, entertainment, food and drink. The event was kindly supported by local businesses and the stage entertainment was kicked off by Prince William School’s concert orchestra. Steel band, Steelasophical, then performed two fantastic sets, bringing a taste of the Caribbean to the town.
The six side stall games were popular with children (and adults) and the activity tent was filled with families making tree decorations, writing letters to Santa and creating Christmas cards. The Town Council tent held a bottle tombola to raise money for The Haemophilia Society and there was free face painting available in the Plaza, provided by Arty Designs.
In the Plaza it was very busy with our indoor craft market, this included lots of local art and crafts businesses. Mrs Dawkins was also selling her handmade Christmas
cards and all profits went to The Haemophilia Society.
The Christmas tree lights were switched on by Mayor Craig Wheeler and LOL Theatre Company’s cast of Little Red Riding Hood. This was followed by carols lead by Thrapston Plaza Opera and friends, accompanied by Thrapston Town Band.
Thank you to everyone who attended
the Festival and to all the volunteers and businesses that helped make it such a success.
