With all manner of spring flowers bursting into bloom in our gardens, the hope of new life is beginning to show all round us.
As we move into April the church prepares
to celebrate once again the events of the first Easter with the triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday where we give out palm crosses to all in the church, to the darkness of Good Friday where we reflect on the great sacrifice our Lord made for us and into the joy of the Resurrection on Easter Day. This year we will
be having a Dawn service in Islip churchyard at 6.00am celebrating the resurrection of our Lord with the traditional fire and light. Why not join us this year? You will be assured of a very warm welcome.
Praise and Play runs every Monday morning in term time in St James Church and offers a chance to chat, make new friends, enjoy craft making, listen to a story, sing songs and enjoy refreshments together. During April there will only be one session – Monday April 24th from 9.00-10.30am so be sure not to miss it! Tuesday Together continues throughout the school holidays so come along come along for a cuppa between 10am and 12noon to meet old friends and make new ones. We’d love to see you. We’re also there on Saturdays – 10am-12noon. For those who want to attend, there is also a Tuesday morning Communion Service starting at 9.45am.
Knitting for Beginners meets on Monday evenings from 6.30-8.00pm in St James, Thrapston and is a group where you can come along and learn how to knit or crochet. It’s free, a lot of fun and those teaching have plenty of patience. No need to book or even bring your own knitting at the beginning. For more details contact Sue on 01832 733717.

During Sunday services in St James, Thrapston, we run JAMES Club for primary school age children to learn about Jesus. For those in secondary school our Youth Bible study group also meets during the services on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays of the month. New members and visitors are always welcome.
