Thrapston Primary School.................................................
Out and about with the children of the Primary School, in the busy winter term...
The winter term has been a long and busy one for everyone at Thrapston Primary School. There have been trips to Flag Fen, the Space Centre and the Bengal Spice local restaurant. Our eldest children survived a wonderful residential trip to Condover Hall. We have also had visitors in school to teach our children about owls and fire fighters.
Our school choir was very busy singing
at the PTFA Autumn Fair, at Thrapston Christmas Lights Switch On, at Morrisons in Haldens Parkway, and at Rushden Lakes. The children are now looking forward to a joint concert with Corby Male Voice Choir and the Allegra Singers in March.
Within school there has been much hard work in each year group and the children enjoy sharing their achievements through Open Mornings and Commendation assemblies. Our dojo points system has been further developed with the award of badges and certificates to those children who have positive attitudes within school, and our confetti trees to celebrate kindness and sharing have been a huge success. Our Bully Buster group have produced their own song, recorded at The Stable recording studio in Wavendon and the School Council are busy selling pencil cases and talking to their designated classes. Our Eco-Action team are developing the school garden
and have recently
planted new trees on
the field. A new Media Crew group has been
set up to share further school events straight from the children.
We would also like to thank the PTFA for their continued support through improving playground provision for our children
and their ongoing fundraising which also provides fun events for families to attend – discos, wreath making etc.
There were some excellent performances as part of the Christmas celebrations
at the end of a busy term. Year 3 and 5 collaborated on a joint concert; Reception performed “Everyone Loves a Baby”; Year 1 showed “A Miracle in Town”, while Year
2 performed a traditional nativity play.
We would like to thank all pupils for their amazing efforts in these performances and the teachers, parents and PTFA for their support at these events. The children visited St James’ Church for some special activities and services – thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this possible also. Every year group had their own Christmas party
– and a special visitor was able to come along too. Thrapston Primary School wish everyone a very happy new year.
