A new organisation T(i)ME for Music coming to The Plaza...
Thrapston Musical Events (TME) is the catchy title for a new Thrapston organisation formed to promote live music in Thrapston, drawing on talented bands and solo artistes from the local area and beyond.
Supported by Thrapston Town Council, TME aims to stage live musical events in the Thrapston Plaza on a Sunday evening once every two months, starting on Sunday 23rd February 2020.
Frank Boydell, TME Chairman, says “We wanted to provide a regular not-for-profit platform for local bands and musical artistes to promote themselves, as well as providing the Thrapston community the opportunity
to enjoy them. We approached Thrapston Town Council, and they were really keen to
support us.”
Artistes for the first event are still being
confirmed but will include sets from Thrapston bands ReStrung and Double Tonic. The evening will be informal with three or four bands or soloists playing throughout the evening, with a bar available for refreshment.
Tickets will be £2 on the door, with any profits being ploughed back and used to help fund the events. The first event will be at 7.30pm on Sunday 23rd February 2020.
Keep an eye on TME’s Facebook page (Thrapston-Musical-Events), and the Town Council website for further information and updates on artistes playing.
LINE DANCING
Diary date: - line dancing will be starting up again Monday 10th February from 6pm until 7pm. Everyone welcome. No booking necessary.
THRAPSTON’S
INDOOR MARKET
Saturday 1st February 9am – 1pm
The indoor market will be held in
St James’ Church Hall on the first Saturday of every month, coinciding with Thrapston’s now famous Farmers Market.
The team, headed by Laura Patey-Smith, will each set their stall in the church hall with items such as jewellery, personalised items, wellness and health care items, as well as skincare and gifts.
Laura Patey-Smith, organiser, said “There are a lot of small businesses in Thrapston, often just working out of a spare room or garage. I wanted to give them a regular space to showcase their items and help them become more successful.”

When the major high street stores order their stock in thousands, the factories never make up exactly that number, but always over produce. It’s these wonderful ‘over makes’ that form part of the stock as well as clothing from exquisite boutiques in France & Italy. These garments bring a certain elegance to the event and are amongst our most popular items.
