Charlie was considerate and introduced himself and told the rabbit about Badger's accident:
'The people are searching for animal traps. I'm sorry if you didn't hear about it. It won't take much longer,' explained Charlie. 'It's safe to walk down the lane and on the footpath.' Charlie felt disgruntled. Every time he ventured outside the garden gate he heard the same question.
'We all need a distraction. This trap business is getting us animals down,' he thought, as he said good evening.
Daylight faded away as the sun slipped below the woods. He felt relieved as he entered the garden. Simon Blackbird called to him from the cherry tree:
