A coronation, a concert
and a day at Thorpe Park
By Captain Neil Bizzell
SSI Donna Nixon was able to win tickets for the Coronation Concert in the public Ballot and Cdt Sgt Emily Allen, our Coronation Champion, was given some as part of her award. So along with SI Dianne Allen and SI Sam Wapples (Yorkshire North and West ACF) they went away for a weekend of celebrations.
On Saturday they headed to Hyde Park where they watched the coronation under a tree in the rain. After a damp main event the Sunday was much nicer and afternoon tea preceded an amazing concert in the grounds of Windsor Castle.
The weekend was finished off with an impromptu trip to Thorpe park on the Bank Holiday Monday
SSI Nixon Said: “A great way to spend the Coronation afternoon! I’m extremely proud to be a British citizen. May God bless and strengthen His Majesty, King Charles III, with the grace and humility to serve as King. God save the King!”

 CORONATION CONCERT
By Cadet Staff Sergeant Hailee Rea-Crossley
As the Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet for Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire, I was honoured to receive an invitation from the Lord-Lieutenant to attend the Coronation Concert for King Charles III.
When I received the news I was excited to be chosen to attend.
The concert was held at Windsor Castle; the first ever concert to be held there and it was amazing. After a lengthy amount of queuing we finally entered the castle grounds, the views were fantastic and the air was a buzz of excitement from all of the concert guests.
We entered the Castle gardens which is where the main event happened. The Pre-Concert entertainers built up the atmosphere and warmed the crowds up before the main event. The Main event was truly fitting for the celebrations bringing together people from across the commonwealth demonstrating a wealth of diverse cultures and talents. On the stage were various acts including Lionel Ritchie, Katie Perry, Olly Murs and Take That with Callum Scott filling in as their fourth. There were perfor-
mances from choirs which
included Nurses from Hull and
a Deaf Signing Group, perfor-
mances which brought together
the Performing Arts, Ballet,
Literature and Art. Everyone
sounded and performed
fantastically. The back drop of
the Castle and drone show
were beautiful.
It was a long day which started off great and ended amazing and
if ever the opportunity occurs again I would definitely recommend it for anyone.
