Moser schools:
showcases for green
education, open on the world
Interview with
Alain Moser
Managing Director of Ecole Moser
Many parents are looking for a school environment conducive
to fulfillment for their children. They are confronted with the
standardization of education, which does not sufficiently take into
account the well-being of students, in accordance with their history,
uniqueness and personality.
Few of them know that the Moser School they turn to is one of
the last family-run educational enterprises in French-speaking
Switzerland.
This largely explains the school’s agility, dynamism and capacity for
innovation over the past 60 years.
This is reflected in its demanding and contemporary approach,
which recently merited it the Prix de l’égalité 2022 (Grand Prix de
l’économie du canton de Genève), the second Prix de l’immobilier
romand 2022 for the Centre pédagogique alpin Les Cabris in Leysin
and the third Prix SVC (Swiss Venture Club) 2021.
Interview with Alain Moser, General Manager.
Your father, Henri Moser, founded the school of the same name
in Geneva in 1961. From its first premises at the Migros Club
School, would you sat that its history is also that of an architectural
adventure?
Absolutely. Our approach has always been to provide children with
generous but human-scale facilities, designed to promote personal
development and well-being, with a particular focus on sport, the
arts and science. We were able to realize these wishes as we went
along. The Geneva school was conceived in line with the major
reform of Secondary II implemented at the onset of the 2000s.
It is the fruit of intuition and of decades of pedagogical reflection.
It is based on the active participation of the students and the
development of pre-university academic competence in research,
critical thinking, analysis and collaboration. The building reflects
this approach: two auditoriums directly connected to group work
