               Progress  has  also  been  profound  in  advancing
               gender equality. When the UN was founded 80
               years ago, gender equality was a marginal issue.
               At  the  1945  San  Francisco  Conference,  only
               four  of  the  850  delegates  were  women  —  yet
               their  advocacy  ensured  that  equal  rights  were
               enshrined  in  the  Charter.  Since  then,  the  UN
               has worked to transform gender equality from
               a principle into a global priority and a driver of
               sustainable development.

               Geneva  has  been  at  the  forefront  of  this
               progress,  thanks  to  unique  constellation  of
               actors — from international organizations and
               research  institutions  to  start-ups  and  think
               tanks — all contributing to what I often call the
               “Geneva ecosystem of solutions”. Among these,
