                   6.2.    Gerunds  as  Objects  of  Prepositions


                      1.  A  gerund  is  the  only  verb  form  that  can  follow  a   ¥  You  can  achieve  your  goals  by  working  hard.

                        can  be  followed  by  a  gerund:              |  don’t  know  his  reason  for  writing  the  letter.
                        advantage  of,  benefit  of,  purpose  for/of,  reason  for.

                      4.  These  common  adjective  +  preposition     I'm  interested  in  learning  more  about  baseball.
                        combinations  can  be  followed  by  a  gerund:       I'm  tired  of  waiting  for  the  bus.
                        atraid  of,  interested  in,  tired  of,  worried  about.

                           Gerunds  with  Nouns  and  Special  Expressions
