choose the animal from your list that you know the most about.

the chart from exercise 1C as a model.
3 WRITE an essay about the endangered animal you chose. Use the information from your
chart in 2B and the essay in exercise 1A to help you.

Notice how the writer uses especially in the essay in exercise 1A. Especially indicates that
the writer is adding an important or particular example of detail to a sentence.
Although all manatees are endangered, African manatees are especially at risk because
of the serious problems they face.
