Here comes the bride!
Hello, everyone. The last time I wrote, everyone
in my family was looking forward to my sister’s
wedding. Well, the big day finally arrived, and it was
my job to help her get ready. It is traditional for an
Indian bride to wear elaborate! makeup and clothes.
My sister got her hair done at a salon, but she
let me do her makeup. I used mascara and eyeliner
to make her eyes stand out. Indian brides also have
beautiful patterns painted on their hands witha
reddish-brown dye called henna. I am not skilled
enough to do this, so she had a professional henna
artist paint her hands.
I helped her put a traditional bindi on her
forehead, and then my mother and I helped her
get dressed. My mother let my sister borrow some
fancy gold jewelry.
My sister was stunning on her wedding day, and
her husband looked attractive, too. He had gotten
his hair cut, and his face was clean-shaven to show
oft his jawline and cheekbones. He was dressed
in a modern suit. He also had on a cool expensive
watch. He made his brother lend it to him for the
wedding.
I'll write more about the wedding in my next
post!
