messages or texts. The process of exchanging correspondences
can take place amongst organisations, within organisations,
between the organisation and the customer, and vice versa.
Written communications can be utilised for many different
purposes e.g. informing customers about flights' itineraries,
timetables, and delays, confirming a reservation, booking a hotel
room, providing information about holidays, and explaining
hotel's facilities and services. Therefore, business
correspondences should be written in a proper formal way, so
that they can reflect the company's image positively.
In order to write effective business correspondences, there are
some important rules that must be obeyed and important steps
that must be followed for realising that. This book discusses
business correspondences in the tourism and hotels industry and
its different categories. It also casts light on some other types of
business correspondences that can be utilised by scholars and
graduates to apply for a scholarship, grant or job. Furthermore,
the book presents a quick revision on the English punctuation,
the difference between British and American English and some
general rules of writing in English.
The basic objectives of this book are:
Explaining important rules of writing an effective business
correspondence.
