4.4.4 Letter of cancellation:
The noun cancellation refers to a decision when a planned
event will not happen. It is the decision, which is taken to end an
agreement or arrangement. Cancellation is when someone
decides that an organised event will not happen or stops an order
for something.
When a passenger writes a letter to the travel agency
requesting for not to continue his holiday booking, this letter is
called a letter of cancellation. After making an airline
reservation, owing to any special circumstances, the passenger
may be unwilling to travel on the mentioned date of booking. In
this situation, the passenger can write a letter of cancellation to
the ticketing and reservation clerk to get the previously made
airline reservation cancelled.
Thus, the letter of cancellation is the letter, which is
written to show someone's intent to cancel a forthcoming
agreement. It acts as a declaration to cancel a planned event and
stop it from happening. Letters of cancellation are written for
many different things e.g. cancelling an insurance policy, a flight
ticket, hotel room, holiday booking and others. Other causes of
writing cancellation letters may include for instance when a
customer want to finish the business or when a customer gets an
