MONTHLY HIGHLIGHTS
Information session on “Personal identifiable data”
The information session on “Personal identifiable data” (“Personal data” hereafter)
was held at Fortive office in Moscow on Nov 07, 2018. The goal of this session was to
get detailed information on what “Personal data” is and how to deal with data which
contains personal identifiable information. The subject is getting very crucial in
modern business environment because companies are dealing with large amount of
data which contains sensitive personal info. Disclosure (involuntary or even on
purpose) of such kind of info can produce a high-level risk for companies’ reputation
and for the whole business after. On the other hand, businesses must comply with
Government laws and regulations in this area. Governments started to pay more and
more attention to this area of business operations. Non-compliance can produce a
risk for companies as well. Good example is GDPR in EU.
One more area where “Personal data” knowledge required is launching new products for local market. Many new Fortive
products have Cloud technology implemented. “Personal data” can be transferred and stored in the Cloud.
Implementation of proper “Personal data” transfer/store method can be crucial for new product launch.
The information session was given by professional experts from Unistaff (our HR Admin company company). They
delivered the full-scale presentation which consisted of theoretical and practical part. Theoretical part included
information on “Personal data” laws and regulations which are effective in Russian Federation (Federal Law 152,
regulation act 687/1119). Fortive employees also received detailed info on how to collect, store and transfer the data
which contains sensitive personal identifiable information. Practical part included individual business cases. Experts
answered questions and provided Fortive staff with guidance on how to deal with “Personal data” for each case. Lot’s
professional advices were received from experts as well. We hope the information presented during the session would
help our Company employees to get better understanding of “Personal data” and how to deal with it. Please, do not
hesitate to give us a feedback and provide your comments on the topic.
