STATEMENT OF PERSONAL LEARNING GOALS.

In this semester, I have the opportunity to study a new subject that is related to

history, in this case is THE HISTORY AND LANGUAGE OF ENGLISH CULTURE.
This subject is going to be very difficult because it is new for me. The reason is that I

have never learned about the history of English culture and the different things that are

related with it.

The main reason for taking this subject is that I would like to learn about
English-speaking cultures and its roots as well as how languages develop under

different cultural regimes. Also, I would like to know who English becomes an
international language and what the means are for English could spread around the

world. Furthermore, in this subject what I would like to learn is about what the
difference is between American English and British English and why they have

different pronunciations. Finally, I think this subject is going to be useful in different

aspects because I am going to learn new things that are going to help me out to develop
my English skills cause by in this subject I have to read a lot and maybe make some

presentations.

In conclusion, I could say this subject is going to contribute a lot to my future
professional development because it has important topics that are going to increase my

knowledge related to English culture. Moreover, I can take advantage of it because in
the future I can use it in order to explain some doubts to my students.
