The Ultimate Expression of Grace
Righteousness and godliness. 4) To serve God acceptably,
reverently and in godly fear. However, there is more to grace
beyond daily living and transformation. There is a big
picture about grace that can be depicted on two sides:
FULFILLING DESTINY and SECURING ETERNITY;
these I see as the ultimate goals of grace.
Grace for Fulfilling Destiny
There is divine destiny assigned to every one of us. We are
not sent into the world just to live, reproduce, replenish the
earth, die and go back to heaven. Each one of us was divinely
designed to achieve specific things on earth. The bringing
together of these several and diverse objectives form the
overall plan of God for humanity. As Habakkuk 2:13-14
puts it,
“Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the
people shall labour in the very fire, and the people
shall weary themselves for very vanity? For the
earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory
of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.”
This is referring to the individual contributions of every
carrier of grace that build up into the ultimate plan of God.
There is what I call Divine Destiny Arrangements. Take
the case of one of God’s foremost prophets, Jeremiah. The
Bible reveals in Jeremiah 1:4-5,
