WELCOME
Mr Thembi Matunda (TM) welcomed all present to the meeting and elected to chair. The attendance register was circulated, please see all present above, no apologies were noted.
TM requested all present to introduce themselves to the meeting.
TM gave a brief background of the project highlighting the following:
TM visited the school and did an inspection with the SGB.
A technical team was sent out to do a comprehensive assessment towards
the end of last year. This team consisted of a QS, Architect and Engineer.
PURPOSE OF THE MEETING
The purpose of this meeting was to present the assessment report, the proposed scope of works and costing to the alumni of Colosa SSS.
PRESENTATION & DISCUSSIONS
Mr Luvuyo Mvunge (LM) proceeded with the presentation, noted items:
The status quo report with photos was presented
The application of the norms was presented
It was noted that 17 classrooms are required for the school
13 of the existing classrooms can be refurbished, so 4 new classrooms are proposed for construction.
All the defective pre-fab buildings will be demolished
